Activity: Write an essay on what you have learned so far
about how the early civilizations have enriched our
world today. Make the essay a minimum of 1 page long.
In the essay include 10 vocabulary words that you have

Logical-Mathematical
Activity: Pick one of the early civilizations that we have learned
about and create an outline. The outline should include major
events that occurred during their reign. Each major event should
have the major details of the event along with the date and any influential
characters that played a crucial role. Make the outline large and creative
so the rest of the class can see what you have written.

Visual-Spatial
Activity: Choosing one of the major civilizations that we have discussed
so far, create a timeline. Each timeline should include events from the
rise of the civilization to the fall and everything you believe that should
be included between. On the timeline, include pictures of leaders,
inventions, current country and major contribution that we see today.

Bodily-Kinesthetic
Activity: You will be given one of the early civilizations that we have
learned about today. You will have to pick one of the major contributions
that your civilization has given our society today. After choosing one
contribution, you and your group will have to research it more in depth to
find out more information. You and your group members will have to
present it to the rest of the class. During the presentation your group
will have to show the class how it was used and where we still see it today.

Musical-Rhythmic
Activity: You will be assigned one of the civilizations. After being
assigned a civilization you and your group will have to find music that is
about or is from your civilization. Once you find your song, you will have
to create a drawing based on the music. The drawing has to be about
the main theme of the song.

Interpersonal
Activity: Get in groups of 3 to 4. Each person will research a civilization
and choose 5 to 6 facts that you find important or interesting to your civilization.
After you discover and record your findings, share with the rest of your
group what you found.

Intrapersonal
Activity: Letter Home: Pretending you have traveled back in time to an early
civilization of your choice, write a letter home to your parents or a friend.
In the letter include where you are, what year it is and what you
see. Don’t forget to include what is going on around you. Also, tell
the receiver of the letter what you see in this time period that you would see
if you were back in home in present time.

Naturalist
Activity: This activity would take place at a museum (field trip). During the trip,
have the kids bring their notebooks and a writing utensil. Have them answer
2 questions and an activity question:
1.) What did you learn today that you didn’t know before?
2.) Write down 3 things that you thought were interesting.
3.) Write a letter to the curator of the museum thanking her for having us on the field trip.
In the letter include what you learned and why you enjoyed it.
